Our Bridegroom is coming, are you ready?

Matthew 25:1

God use’s this illustration to remind you and me that we are waiting for a celebration, for our Bridegroom, He is coming for us the Bride. Remember Jesus is our hero our Bridegroom and we the body of Christ are the bride. He uses this to picture to remind us that we alone are responsible for our own spiritual growth and preparation. We cannot expect other people to change us, or help us when it’s time to enter the Celebration mentioned in this story. I know the bible does state the Holy Spirit is our guide, counselor and teacher. But we alone are responsible in keeping our hearts in tune with the Holy Spirit. Walking the walk of Love, Peace, Joy, Long-suffering, gentleness, kindness and self discipline. Not living to satisfy our every whim. I love you to much not to remind you, that you cannot continue being distracted or going alone with the crowd that may be heading in the wrong direction. If you find yourself compromising what you know is right, just to hang out with your group of friends. Then this might be a good time to access who your friends are. Not that they are doing anything on purpose to you, but only you can decide if what your doing is heading toward the goal. We all have a goal some are not Christ centered.

I keep hearing in my own spirit…

WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT SEASON IT IS, THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO

This goes right in line with Matthew 25:1 first starting with these bridesmaids who were grabbing their lamps and getting ready to meet the Bridegroom. In this story the Bridegroom doesn’t come exactly when the bridesmaids thought. So half weren’t ready, they were not prepared with enough oil to meet him. At the last minute they wanted the wise girls that had enough oil and were prepared for the groom to give them their oil. I believe this example is for many who are distracted by so many things, and not preparing their hearts, and spirits and lives for the King who’s coming to rescue us. See just like these bridesmaids couldn’t run at the last minute to those who had been preparing and were ready. This will be like those who haven’t been allowing God, Holy Spirit to change them, those who aren’t willing to do the hard stuff and die to their flesh, sin nature, bad habits. This is a personal responsibility. This means, just maybe it’s time to see where you are in your personal walk with Jesus? Do you have a personal relationship with him? Do you know him, and better yet does he know You? The word says God knows all of us, every hair on our head, when I ask the question does Jesus know you. I am talking about your personal conversations you have with him, your hearts desires, your joy’s, your fears, your concerns. This is called a personal relationship with Jesus. If you know Jesus then you will be ready, you will be filled with the oil.. Holy Spirit to know the exact season we are in. You will not be taken by surprise, or unprepared, or like this parable sleeping.

The saddest thing ever is to miss the coming of our Groom. It mentions in verse 3 there were 5 foolish ones who took their lamps but not enough oil. I believe this could represent those who know of Jesus or know of God, but have never picked up the bible to read his story in the New Testament, or maybe you’ve read it but you haven’t accept Jesus as your personal savior to come and live in you and allow Him to change you. Or those who use to know him or of him but have gotten distracted by so many other things and have forgotten him. Maybe you’ve started a job, a family, or chasing after material things trying to keep up with the Jones (sorta speak) and have lost precious time. Maybe you got angry because of heart ache, or unanswered prayer, or focused on your own pain and have drifted into a pity party and stop spending time with Jesus, reading the bible going to community (church) fellow-shipping with others so that you can grow together.

I believe while we still have time, you can refill your lamp stand today with one prayer. I’m sorry Father God, forgive me for not spending precious time with you, my hero Jesus who died for me so that I could boldly come to the throne and talk with you Father God, and that you’ve given me a piece of you to live in me and to grow in me Holy Spirit teach me today to have a passion and desire to chase after you Jesus and live for your kingdom. Amen.

Don’t delay or think you can come in late and risk hearing “it’s too late, I don’t know you”! verse 25:12

Don’t be foolish, be wise and prepared. Start today keep watch, know the season and be excited to meet our Bridegroom face to face. He’s coming for us, and he’s going to throw an amazing celebration. I will be there and I hope you also will be there, so we can celebrate all together.

God loves you, He’s not mad at you, He so desires to have a relationshipp with you. Don’t believe the lie’s that you have to have it all together first, you start letting go of your will and watch what happens, or don’t believe you’ve mess up so bad that He could love you or forgive you. Those are lies, God gave up everything for US. His Precious Son he sent to the cross so that he could have a relationship with us his creation. Don’t wait till tomorrow..

When we get to the party, and or to Heaven we should already know Him and go running to Him. Not be afraid, because we don’t know Him, or worse be late and not make it in! Some verse to meditate:

Philippians 4:13, Luke 1:37, Mark 9:23, 11:24, Jeremiah 32:17, Proverbs 3:4-6

Love you,

Sophia ~ Daughter of the King
