“Relationship” vs “I know him”

RELATIONSHIP VS  “I KNOW HIM”

Blog for The Heart of God ~  November 20, 2019

I want to expand on the Bridegroom coming from last blog. You know to have a relationship with someone you have to go after them and desire to get to know them. We all have friends that we don’t really know kind of casual. We are respectful, polite and distant. You of them and you see them occasionally but you don’t know anything else personal. You also have friends that you know very well, you are close, you are transparent with, and you know what they like, what they don’t like. You maybe go over to their house or meet up often. As you have gotten to know your friend you like spending more time with them. This is called a relationship, in case you didn’t know where I was going with all of this!

I know that if we want to be ready for our Bridegroom Jesus, then we should get to know Him and His Father.

We need to build a relationship with him we have to be will to be intimate with him, and by that I mean  you don’t keep your distance, you don’t just be polite and not talk bad about God or in other words use His name in vain. You have to be willing to do more than just go to church on Sunday.  We must have daily quite time with him, reading a little, sharing a little with him (prayer) and then listening.

We must also be transparent let him know that you are upset about something, or your feeling anxious about something or someone. Or even how excited you are about something or someone. You have to start being real with Him. Stop just saying memorized prayers, have real conversation. Remember when we accepted Jesus as our personal savior, He sent the Holy Spirit to live IN US! So we aren’t alone, we can get real, and know he’s not mad at us, he already knows how you feel and what you’re thinking. He wants you to open up, so it releases the shame, guilt, anger etc.

You must be willing to submit yourself to him; this is a mutual submission… PONDER THIS! God submitted first to US, by sending His Son to die so that we may boldly come to the Throne of His Father God.  This means God wants to know you more, and want you to want to know Him. I can’t imagine anything else He could do to show us that He cares, He Loves, He desires to hangout with US. He shows us in everything around us, His creation flowers, the sun, birds, sky, ocean, the beautiful sunrise’s and sunsets. These are His masterpiece for US his Son’s and Daughter to Smile and say WOW look what my Father did today.

FYI: On a personal note: He’s the coolest person I know, great artist, great listener, great miracle worker, great comforter, chain breaker. Great sense of humor have you seen some of these animals…. Best Friend EVER!

Jesus waits patiently at the door, he says He knocks in hopes that we let him in.. into our hearts, minds and our daily everything.

Remember God doesn’t want a relationship that’s casual, respectful and distance and based just on holidays or Sundays.. He wants a deeper relationship, but most would rather keep him at arm’s length so you can keep doing the things that cause you to maybe feel like you’re in control, or keeps you under stress, fear, anger, compulsive behaviors or hold on your anger, bitterness. These are the things that keep so many Christian from a deeper relationship with our Savior.

God can force us to obey by the consequence, and fear him, but He can’t force or make us Love Him!  Just like your own children, or family members.

Don’t get stuck in your religion of routines and rituals and miss out on a beautiful relationship. And like the 5 virgin in the parable I shared last time they weren’t ready for their King come, they thought they were, but they were distracted and distant. And when the door shut, He said he didn’t even know them. My heart breaks for anyone who doesn’t know Jesus on an intimate level.

Let me break this down!

  • Intimate means quality time alone with God. Reading and Listening.
  • Never be hasty in your decisions without checking with God your Father
  • Be consistent with reading his word so you can cover your mind and heart with wisdom and power, knowledge.
  • Count the cost, you may have to give up some things for God.
  • Be willing to do things for God. Don’t get caught up in only asking for your needs.
  • It doesn’t matter where you’ve been, God’s Love will never change toward you.

Start now having a personal intimate relationship with the Creator of the world. He’s waiting, please don’t get so caught up in your world that you forget to talk to your Father and you only go to him when you’re in trouble or need something.

When we tend to only pray for our needs at the time of trouble, then we don’t realize that we only know of God.  Be careful that you don’t become religious, when you go to church on Sundays,  never get out into the world to minister to others,  only thing of yourself and what you can get or have, you may become judgmental and critical of others, Other’s that God loves and died for.
